I don’t know about you, but whenever life starts to feel a bit too much—too busy, too noisy, too “how on earth am I meant to do everything?”—I find myself craving one thing: space.
Not just the kind of space where you sit on the sofa with a cup of tea (though that’s important too), but real, expansive, breathe-it-all-in space. The kind you only get when you step outside, feel the air on your face, and remember that there’s a world beyond your to-do list.
And when you do it with others? That’s where the real magic happens.
I see it time and time again at my Netwalks—women arrive feeling a bit frazzled, maybe slightly hesitant, not quite sure what to expect. But as soon as we start walking, something shifts. The stress loosens its grip. Conversations flow more easily. People leave feeling lighter, clearer, recharged.
So why is being out in nature together so powerful? Here’s what I’ve learned:
When we’re stuck indoors, glued to screens, or trying to juggle all the things, our brains get overwhelmed. Thoughts loop. Overthinking creeps in. And suddenly, everything feels heavier than it needs to be.
But step outside? It’s like pressing reset.
Walking in nature slows your nervous system down. Your body moves, your breathing deepens, your mind quiets. And without even trying, the things that felt tangled start to unravel.
The best part? You don’t even have to force it. The simple act of walking—one foot in front of the other—works its magic on its own.
Ever noticed how talking while walking feels easier? There’s a reason for that.
When we sit across from someone, eye to eye, it can feel a little intense—especially if we’re discussing something personal or vulnerable. But when we’re walking side by side? That pressure disappears.
There’s no awkwardness, no need to fill silences. Just the rhythm of walking, the shared experience of being in nature, and the kind of conversations that feel natural rather than forced.
This is why Netwalking works so well. Whether you’re chatting about business, life, or something completely random, there’s a flow to it that makes genuine connection effortless.
It’s easy to get stuck in our own little worlds—our businesses, our worries, the never-ending list of things to do. But being outside shifts our perspective.
Standing beneath trees that have been there for centuries… watching the seasons change… feeling the crunch of leaves or the softness of grass underfoot… it all reminds us that we’re part of something much bigger than our daily stresses.
And when you share that moment with others? It deepens the experience even more.
Because let’s be honest—life isn’t meant to be lived in isolation. We’re wired for connection, and nature is the perfect backdrop to make it happen.
It’s not just about getting outside or exercising (though both are great). It’s about coming together in a way that feels natural, not forced.
It’s about moving physically while shifting things mentally and emotionally. It’s about making real connections with people who get it. It’s about taking a breath, gaining clarity, and remembering that you’re not doing this alone.
And I truly believe that, in a world that’s constantly pulling us into stress, busyness, and screens, this is what we all need more of.
So if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you just need a fresh perspective, my advice is simple: step outside. Walk with someone. Notice the world around you.
Because I promise you—it helps.
